  • getting sued for two thousand dollars in small claims court?

Posted by admin on August 31st, 2009 and filed under thousand dollars | 3 Comments »

I am getting sued for two thousand dollars in a small claims court for a piece of junk car, that i had surrenderd. I know that if i dont show up to court that i automatically lose. What happens after that, what are the other consequences?

after that you pay the 2k and court costs and move on. or you don’t pay, and they file for garnishment wherein your employer withholds wages under penalty of law.

Then they will get a judgment against you and possibly garnish your wages or other income until the judgment is satisfied. Go to court and at least TRY to argue the car was a lemon and was already surrendered.
